The Rackman Center Represents an Agunah in one of the Most Difficult Cases
Tzvia Gorodetsky, has been an Agunah for 17 years. She told the media, “Even his 16 years in prison have not persuaded him to release me.”
Gorodetzky, a client of the Rackman Center at Bar-Ilan University, began a hunger strike to awaken Knesset members and rabbis to act on her behalf and that of women in her condition, and to release her from her agonizing situation.
Adv. Shay Zilberberg of the Rackman Center and Adv.Sara Markovitz described this case as “…one of the most difficult cases that the State of Israel has known, and the agunah has reached a state of hopelessness to the point of using a means of hunger strike after more than 17 years of refusal.”
