Prof Ruth Halperin-Kaddari was invited to speak at the hearing on Marital Captivity at the European Parliament in Brussels. In her session, she explained the phenomenon of marital captivity and traditions in her role as Vice-President of CEDAW. *Marital captivity refers to a situation in which women are unable to terminate their marriage.
