The debate over the right to marry in Israel – a lecture by Prof. Ruth Halperin-Kaddari

Freedom of marriage is one of the most important and difficult challenges Israel faces in the field of religion-state relations.  In a webinar, hosted by Hiddush, Prof. Halperin-Kaddari describes key issues in this area and illustrates how important it is to promote this freedom and change the current reality, which violates individual freedoms, gender equality, human dignity, and freedom of religion so greatly. She exposes the growing phenomenon of Orthodox couples choosing to marry outside the auspices of the Chief Rabbinate and analyzes the data on Israeli marriages abroad.
