The Rackman Center Faculty of Law has just opened the new academic year. We welcomed new students to the Legal Aid Clinic for Women in Family Matters. We also welcomed new interns to our program for emotional support of women going through divorce proceedings.
Last week, we held an orientation day. It was led by Advocate Shelly Blatt Zak, CEO of the Rackman Center; Advocate Shir Wolman, Director of the Clinic; and Gilit Inbar-Kimchi, Director of the Emotional Support Department.
During the day, students attended lectures on the various activities of the Rackman Center. These included promoting public policy and legislation, telephone legal counseling for women in family matters, and an overview of the family law arena in Israel.
In addition, Dr. Omer Shaked from the School of Social Work at Bar-Ilan University gave an excellent lecture on domestic violence.
It was an emotional and fascinating day. We were happy to meet everyone. We look forward to an interesting and constructive year.
